Brief Introduction
The seminar will cover elementary probabilistic tools and discrete methods, including but not limited to: Central Limit Theorem, Tail bounds (Chernoff, etc), Probabilistic Methods (Construction of Expander Graphs, Bins and Balls), Cheeger’s Inequality, and their applications to Online Learning and Operations Management. There will be a follow-up seminar also held by Professor Zhou Yuan this July.
